Newly Named Louisiana Association of United Way's President/CEO

Sarah H. Berthelot named President/CEO of the Louisiana Association of United Ways

ALEXANDRIA, LA - On Friday June 20, 2014 Sarah H. Berthelot was named the President/CEO of the Louisiana Association of United Ways.

Berthelot, currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer of United Way Acadiana, holds sixteen years of experience with non-profit organizations with over nine of those years at United Way in her hometown community of Lafayette. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette majoring in Interpersonal and Public Communication. Along with her long list of awards and recognitions comes an even longer list of exemplary community involvements such as: Board Member of the Louisiana Association of Non-Profit Organizations, President of the Junior League of Lafayette and Board Member of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Alumni Association. Berthelot has also been nationally recognized as a leader by United Way Worldwide as well as several other national organizations.

Denise Durel, LAUW chairman of the board states, “We conducted a nationwide search and found the best candidate right here within our state system. We are excited to have Sarah serve in this new capacity for United Way. Her leadership, experience and enthusiasm will all be tremendous assets as we strive to work together to build up our local communities and the state of Louisiana.  ”

Berthelot will take up her new position on August 1, 2014.
