August 2016 Louisiana Floods
In August 2016, intense flooding in Louisiana wreaked havoc on more than 130,000 families in south Louisiana. Many residents lost their homes, cars and possessions, with many of residents still facing long-term recovery. Louisiana United Ways coordinated efforts to help meet the unmet needs of families and their communities throughout the affected regions. During this time, LAUW established the Louisiana United Way Flood Fund, which helped regional United Ways restore lives throughout our state.
