In 2007 the Louisiana Association of United Ways has leveraged a commitment from United Way of America and each of the 13 United Ways throughout the state to monetarily support the statewide 2-1-1 system. In 2006, seven United Ways contributed over $800,000 - not counting extra one-time contributions for disaster response.
